Working your way up the gutter is harder than it looks

For most, the pursuit of wealth and happiness is clear-cut, but not for Roscoe Taylor. While Roscoe is reluctantly climbing the corporate ladder, he must also contend with the bombardment of mixed messages from his childhood friends, Artie Collins and Stu Ripley. Artie has defined success by becoming the devoted husband to Rita and loving father of roughly two dozen offspring at any given moment. Despite his hectic family life and career as a systems analyst for the largest accounting firm beneath Wacker Drive, Artie's organizational prowess and limitless enthusiasm for the life he leads make even Tony Robbins envious.

On the other end of the spectrum is Stu Ripley, confirmed bachelor, affluent Chicago psychologist, and devout believer that the world revolves around him. Roscoe is not sure which race he is supposed to be running, and oftentimes it looks like the best thing to do is to run away. Roscoe also has to contend with an entire city of rats who will do almost anything to succeed, including an experimental lab rat for hire whose latest scientific exploits are both frightening and funny. They may just be a bunch of rats living beneath Chicago, but life sure looks a lot like the rat race above ground.
